πͺΆ Margin Float
The Margin Float is designed for close-range fishing in the margins of lakes and ponds β usually on the top shelf, where larger carp are often caught feeding with confidence. Using a stronger line and an elasticated pole, the angler sets the float either at dead depth or lays it on the shelf, waiting for the big fish to move in.
π Control and Presentation
Margin fishing often involves pushing the pole tip under overhanging bushes or trees, using a short line between pole tip and float. This setup gives the angler maximum control when hooking carp, allowing the fish to be guided into open water where it can be played and landed more easily.
π§ͺ Built for Strength
Margin floats need to be tough. Hooking large carp in snaggy or vegetated areas puts tremendous pressure on the tackle. To withstand this, Gold Medal Margin Floats are built with:
-
Carbon or fibreglass stems for strength and durability
-
Nylon tips for high visibility and stability
-
Reinforced, extra-strong body coating
-
A unique grooved body design that protects against line damage, even when playing big weights of fish
This construction ensures the float stays intact and reliable β even in the most demanding margin battles.
π£ Match Anglerβs Choice
In commercial matches, anglers often set up identical rigs to save time if one becomes tangled mid-session. To suit different baits and conditions, we offer two types of Margin Floats:
-
πͺΆ Light-tip β for maggots and casters
-
πͺ± Heavy-tip β for pellets, paste, and lobworms
This gives you the flexibility to match your rig perfectly to your bait and presentation.
β In summary:
-
Ideal for close-range margin fishing for large carp
-
Built tough for snaggy or overgrown areas
-
Special grooved body protects against line damage
-
Available in light and heavy tip versions for versatile bait options
